FOUNDER & PSYCHOTHERAPIST OF LORREN SIU COUNSELING
Who I Work With
Individuals who have been labeled at sensitive, anxious, people-pleasers who are ready to live their own life and stop living for the many whims and cares of others. I work with women and men who have experienced trauma in their childhood, a past relationship, or even an unhealthy work-place. My clients have felt that anxiety controls their life and they are at a breaking point - things have to change if they are going to make it any farther in life. Together we work towards those changes in a healthy, supported way that builds a new, stronger foundation for living an authentic, peaceful, and truly fulfilling life.

About
I am a small-town country girl living the city life as a Bay Area transplant. I know what being on the outskirts, not quite fitting in, feels like. As a Highly Sensitive Person myself, I also know what it is like to be easily overwhelmed in life and not so easily understood by others. Finding a supportive community, embracing my faith, and experiencing deep healing in my own therapy are all things that helped me thrive. Now I love to work with others who are on that journey.
It takes intentional work to learn enough about yourself and the world around you to make healthy changes. I believe is also takes loving, caring support along the way. I love coming along side those who have felt out or place, misunderstood, and unsafe to help them find peace within themselves. Using tools and techniques to calm their nervous systems and process what they have been through on a deep level leads to lasting changes and relief. Pulling in the beliefs and values of faith integrates those changes on a spiritual level. Having someone to hold a safe, calming space of acceptance brings healing on a relational level. These are some of the ways therapy can be truly magical.
What Makes Me Come Alive
Time outside is what keeps me grounded. I love hiking, exploring new places, horseback riding, and time with my Dog (and therapy partner) Emi. When I am not outside, I enjoy cooking new recipes with my husband, board games with friends, and reading historical fiction.
