5 Fun Book Recommendations

We have several book nerds here at Havenly Counseling Collective! So to showcase our love of all things literary, we have some recommendations.

1. Bobbi from Elder Emo Therapy recommends,

Hounded

By Kevin Hearne

Looking for a fantasy series that will have you laughing out loud? I’ve got the book for you! "Hounded," the first installment of the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. Join Atticus O'Sullivan, a 2000-year-old druid, as he navigates the modern world with his witty and wise-cracking companion, Oberon, an Irish wolfhound. So if you've got a soft spot for talking dogs and a thirst for fantastical adventures, "Hounded" and the Iron Druid Chronicles are worth checking out.

2. Melinda from Inviterra Counseling recommends,

A Court of Thorns and Roses

By Sarah J. Maas

This is the epitome of what I call a "popcorn novel". It's fun and engrossing, just pure escape. ACOTAR is the first book of five in this awesome series. It is a bit NSFW (read: steamy), but I love the storyline and each character's development throughout the whole series. I wish I could read it for the first time all over again!

3. Joanne from OliveMe Counseling recommends,

The Evolution of a Girl

L. E. Bowman

I love L.E. Bowman’s poetry! Lotsa great juicy verses about love, womanhood, authenticity, courage, and healing.

Her sequel What I Learned from the Trees is also fantastic!!

4. Morgan from Morgan Hancock Therapy recommends,

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)

By Mindy Kaling

I first discovered Mindy Kaling when she wrote and acted on The Office, and trust that anything she writes is going to make me crack up. I laughed so hard by myself in a hotel lobby on a work trip reading this book. My brother gave it to me as a gift because "It had pink on the cover," and am so grateful he made that random assumption.

5. Lorren from Lorren Siu Counseling recommends,

The Apology Project

By Jeanette Escudero

This is a book I picked up during a vacation and found I could not put down! It's the story of Amelia, a lawyer who takes a hard look at the way she is living and decides to make some changes for the better. Some PG-13 content.
